Tyrone Rubik
Tyrone Rubik was born in 1980. He started listening dance music in 1993, in a radio program called “It’s your time”, where djs played this kind of music. In 1994 he began going to electronic music clubs and in 1995 he started djing. One day, in 1996, there was a special “It’s your time” program, where the coordinator talked about dance genres and then was when he discovered that techno is his genre. He started to collect techno cassettes of artists like Jeff Mills, Claude Young, Dave Clarke, Kelli Hand, Oscar Mulero etc… and started buying techno vinyls. He started composing in 1999-2000, with the only tool of Propellerhead ReBirth and later Reason. He sent his music to a few music labels. One label was interested in his tracks, but they were not mastered, they were “mono” (not “stereo”), and all labels on those years were not digital, music was all edited in vinyl, a handicap for him. He stopped composing and started reading about mastering, synthesis and mixing. He began taking daw lessons, and in 2006 he started buying hardware. Now he continues composing, combining hardware and software.
